Schleswig Holstein

Schleswig Holstein historic sideOne of Germany’s largest states, Schleswig Holstein borders Denmark as well as the Baltic and Northern Seas. Lübeck and Kiel are two of the region’s largest cities, and are both very historic settlements with plenty of attractions. One of the more popular spots in Lübeck is the area surrounding its old mill. Sitting along the Trave River, the mill is home to restaurants serving up excellent food with a great atmosphere. The Trave River itself is also a good bet for a scenic walk, and the city’s town hall (Rathaus) never fails to impress. The city also has its own museum, which is worth visiting.
